Denise Marie Serra Shami, 68, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away peacefully at home on January 2, 2024. She grew up in Masontown, PA and lived in Wheeling, WV for over 40 years. She relocated to Jacksonville in 2022 to be closer to her grandchildren, whom she adored and cherished. Denise loved gardening, reading, and spending time with her family.
Denise was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, and friend. She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Hani, parents John and Ida, and older brothers John and Vincent. She is survived by daughters Nadia (Zack) Iwanyshyn and Teresa (Robert) Neely, granddaughters Madeline and Gianna Iwanyshyn.
Family and friends will be received for a memorial gathering, Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 11 am – 12:30 pm, at Altmeyer Funeral Homes, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger St., Wheeling.
