Florence "Flo" Iona Behrens (Beisner) 89, of Elm Grove, WV, passed away Thursday February 22, 2024 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home. She was born in Wheeling, WV on November 1st, 1934, daughter of the late James Henry and Leona Beisner (Way) of Wheeling.
Flo was a long time employee of Aul and Shivley Dry Cleaners and Kepner's Funeral Home. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and the truest and kindest friend to so many that she embraced as her own family. She was a loving and loyal member of the Assembly of God Church of Valley Grove, WV and a dear friend to Brother and Sister Rakon. Flo enjoyed doing for others and put the needs of everyone above her own. She was especially fond of all of her dear friends at St. Paul's Terrace where she spent over 19 years and made so many lasting relationships.
In addition to her parents, Flo was preceded in death by her adored husband Alfred "Lou" Behrens, brothers Richard and Earl Beisner, sister Katherine "Mitzi" Lyons, stepsister Ruth Webb, and son-in-law Matthew Evo Petri. Left to cherish her memory are her children; her sons James "Jimmy" (JoAnn), Robert "Robbie" (Cheryl), Mark Behrens, and daughter Sharon (Gary) Petri. Her beloved grandchildren Ericka (John), Jimbo, Travis (Jami), Tyler, Justin, Josh, Mark "Marky" (Becca), Matt (Hailey), Coleton, Forrest, and 8 great-grandchildren; Trevin, Zoey, Aaliyah, Kinsley, Easton, Bryson, Viviana, and Kaycen. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews as well as her sister-in-law Linda Beisner.
Friends will be received on Sunday, February 25, 2024 from 12-2 & 4-6 PM and again on Monday, February 26, 2024 from 10 AM until the time of service at 11 AM at Kepner Funeral Homes, 166 Kruger Street, Wheeling, WV (304-242-2311) with Mr. David Nash officiating. Interment will follow the service in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling, WV
In lieu of flowers, Flo had requested donations be made to Assembly of God Church, 11320 National Road, Valley Grove, WV 26060.
