Fred J. Baxter, age 75, of Proctor, WV, passed away, Thursday February 15, 2024, at WVU Wheeling Hospital.
He was born February 11, 1949, in New Martinsville, WV, the son of Helena Baxter and the late Joseph H. Baxter.
Fred was retired from Lockheed Martin and Northwest Airlines as an Aircraft Mechanic, a US Army Veteran who served during the Vietnam War in Korea. Fred was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Proctor.
He was preceded in death by his father Joseph Holland Baxter.
Survivors include his partner Kathy Johnson; mother Helena Herrick Baxter of Parkersburg, WV; a son, Daniel (Denise) Baxter of Buckhead, GA; 2 daughters, Teresa (Quincey) Nealy of Norcross, GA and Connie (Wesley) Tyre of Greensboro, NC; 2 brothers, Kenneth (Judy) Baxter and Robert (Kathy Jo) Baxter both of New Martinsville; a sister Ann (Arthur) Linger of Washington, WV; 4 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Monday February 19, 2024, from 10 am -11 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 64 Frohnapfel Ln, Proctor, WV where Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 11 am with Msgr. Kevin Quirk as celebrant.
Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Proctor, WV.
