John Vincent Capobianco, 88, of Cambridge, OH, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.
He was born September 3, 1935, a son of the late Joseph and Margherite (DeVendra) Capobianco. John was extremely proud of his Italian heritage, a Catholic by faith and a U.S. Army Reserve Veteran. After graduating from Wheeling High School, John attended West Virginia University, where he graduated with a degree in Business. He dedicated his professional career as a program analyst and worked for NCR for most of his career. John was a sports enthusiast and could always be found cheering on his beloved WVU Mountaineers. He enjoyed singing, dancing the jitterbug and exploring new places through his travels with his wife. Above everything else John loved sharing his sense of humor, he always had a joke on hand, especially "corny" jokes for his grandsons.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Connie Hiles.
John is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Janice (Cecil) Capobianco; two daughters, Debbie (Terive) Duperier and Gina (Mark) Kirk; two brothers, Joe and Albert Capobianco; five grandsons, Jonathan, Joseph, Gabriel, Christopher and Francis and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will be held Saturday, February 17, 11 am at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 2111 Market St., Wheeling.
