Nila June Richardson, age 84, of Wheeling WV, passed away on Sunday, February 4th at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Wheeling, WV, with family by her side.
Born on September 10, 1939, Nila was the daughter of Mary Belle and Ward Griffith. She grew up in Littleton, WV and was a life-long member of the Island Christian Church, Wheeling, WV.
Nila was preceded in death by her loving husband, Herbert Linn Richardson, a son Jeffrey Ray Richardson, and a daughter Cynthia Ann Ambuehl, as well as all her siblings, with the exception of a younger brother Mark Griffith who currently resides in New Philadelphia with his wife Denise.
She is survived by her sons Greg Richardson (Lori), Andy Richardson (Sis), Herby Richardson (Eileen), Dan Richardson (Deb), and Tom Richardson (Barb). She leaves behind several grandchildren and great-grandchil- dren as well as many nieces and nephews who were very special to her.
Mom will be known for her strong faith, kindness to others, and love for all animals, especially her beloved cats! Her true love for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was evident every time she spoke of them. Whenever we were in her company the first comment she made was "I have been blessed with such wonderful children". If truth be told, we were the ones who were greatly blessed! Mom was truly a selfless individual always putting her family's needs above her own. She will be sorely missed by her closest family members.
Friends will be received at Kepner Funeral Home, 900 National Road, Wheeling, WV (304-232-2732) on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 from 4:00 PM until the time of service at 6:00 PM with Rev. Kenneth Hardway officiating.
