Ruth Annabelle (Alfred) Gorrell, 92, of Alma, WV peacefully passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.
She was born in Hurst, WV on January 29, 1932. Annabelle was a graduate of Sistersville High School, where she was Valedictorian and winner of the Golden Horseshoe. After graduation, she was hired by PPG Industries as a secretary.
Annabelle was preceded in death by her parents, Omer and Delphia (Hurst) Alfred; her beloved husband of forty-six years, William Haught Gorrell; brothers, Herbert, Dale, Gale, Herman, Harold and Glen and sisters, Bernice Brady, Bernice Alfred, Vonice Brady and "Dosie" Wiseman.
Annabelle is survived by her children, Debbie (Allen) Stader, Susie (Dave) Fetty, Nancy (Rodney) Henthorn, Bill (Marian) Gorrell, Tracy (Gary) Koontz, Lisa (Gary) Villers, Katie (Kerry) Kincaid, Stacey (Mike) Roberts; grandchildren, Jeremy (Marcia) Stader, Casey (Rob) Frazier, Marc (Mandy) Fetty, Joanna (Ben) Richardson, Samantha (Dave) Lemasters, Brock (Cassidy) Gorrell, Gabe (Brielle) Koontz, Adam (Rachel) Koontz, Ethan (Makenzie) Koontz, Brandon Smith, Christian (Alyssa) Gorrell, Josh Henthorn, Christopher (Lacey) Henthorn, Lexi Kincaid, Darby Kincaid, Hannah Roberts, and Dylan Roberts; great grandchildren, Ryan, Ian Stader; Jorda, Riley James; Emily, Mya Fetty; Deacon, Damon Richardson; Will, Havannah, Cole Faith Lemasters; Quinn, Sloane Gorrell; Reagan, Zander Koontz; Griffey Koontz; Shaleigh, Scotlyn, Saige Koontz, Adakin, Kamdyn, Evelyne Logan-Gorrell and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She loved her family with all of her heart and enjoyed every second she got to spend with them. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading and feeding her birds. She was a faithful member of the Muddy Creek Church of Christ. She lived a Godly life and was a wonderful example to all of those who knew her.
Her children would like to thank Rada's Care Home for the love and care they gave their mother over the last five months.
Friends received 4-8 p.m., Friday, February 16, 2024 at the Furbee-Williams Funeral Home, 217 Main St., Middlebourne WV where funeral will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, February 17, 2024 with burial to follow in Beechwood Cemetery in Alma, WV.
