CHARLES “BUCK” PORTER, SR.

Charles William "Buck" Porter Sr., 84, of Wheeling, passed away Friday, February 23, 2024, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown. He was born in Bridgeport on February 28, 1939, a son of the late Paul and Hattie (Minor) Porter. He served his country in the US army, retired from Blawknox after many years of service, was a member of the Bridgeport Eagles, where he was the secretary of the Belmont County Eagles Bowling League, enjoyed being a handy man, "Jack of all trades" and bowling, loved motorcycles and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan.

Buck is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Loretta (Rodgers) Porter; four children, Paula Porter- Adams, Billie Jean Porter Mumley, Charles "Buck" (Miranda) Porter Jr., and Pamela (James) Porter-Kerekes; a sister, Pat Lekanidis; four brothers, John (Sue) Porter, Bob (Carol) Porter, Dave Porter and Ed Porter; eleven grandchildren, Amanda, Melissa, Jordan, Mathew, Tyler, Mary, Marlee, Colt, Alexandra, Jonah, and Ava; seven great grandchildren, Mila, Atlas, Remi, Lukas, Noah, Stella Mae, Jaxson, Ettamae and Jolene; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Paul "Dick" Porter, and Howard "Jimbo" Porter; and a sister, Ruth Langer.

Friends may call Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 10 - 11 am in the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 am in the funeral home, with Reverend James Hoff. Military Honors presented by the Moundsville Honor Guard. Burial will be Monday, March 11 at 9:30 am in Greenwood Cemetery.
