Frances A. Ziegler, 91 years young, of Wheeling, WV, passed peacefully at home just after midnight on March 24, 2024, surrounded by her granddaughter, Tara, and niece, Connie.
Frannie was a life-long resident of West Virginia, growing up on a farm with two sisters and two brothers. Frannie loved flowers in her garden, camping, and hiking in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia with her husband, Ed. She also enjoyed vacations to California to visit her son, Gary, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Frannie was fortunate to see many many sights in this beautiful country including Alaska, the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, and Yosemite Park.
Frannie was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Ed; her parents, Frank and Beulah Wilkinson; her sisters, Maxine McCreary and Norma Roth; her brothers, Frank Wilkinson and Don Wilkinson; her niece, Bonnie Ebert; and nephews, Timmy Ziegler, Donnie Wilkinson, and Joey Roth.
Frannie is survived by her loving cat, Juanita, and her crazy dog, Whiskey Gauge; her son, Gary Ziegler, of Wheeling, WV; her granddaughter, Tara (Erv) Obregon, of Oroville, CA; her grandson, Sean (Katie) Ziegler, of Rocklin, CA; her great-grand- sons, Travis (Sabrina) Foster and Cody (Devin) Obregon, of Reno, NV; her great-great- grandsons, Dean and Owen Foster, of Reno, NV; sisters-in-law, Judy Wilkinson and Katey Wilkinson, of Wheeling, WV; numerous nieces and nephews; and loving friends, Ruth Richardson and Donna Gasic.
Frannie especially enjoyed outings with nieces, Connie Caldwell and Nancy Dusci, along with personal chauffeurs, Tom Ebert and Tom O'Kelley, and giving heck to her adopted yardman, Seth Kucera.
According to Frannie's wishes, there will be no formal visitation or services. Arrangements by Kepner Funeral Home-Burke Chapel, 2101 Warwood Ave. Wheeling, WV (304-277-2722).
