RALPH “RED” HUNTER JR.

Ralph Edward "Red" Hunter Jr., 87, of Beech Bottom, WV died peacefully on Monday, March 18, 2024, at Weirton Medical Center with his family by his side.

Born on June 14, 1936, in Wellsburg, WV, a son of the late Ralph Edward and Mary (Sayre) Hunter, Sr. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Bruce and brother-in-law, James Bruce.

Red graduated from Wellsburg High School in 1955. He worked for several years at Eagle Manufacturing and retired from the former Standard LaFarge where he worked as a laborer. He was a member of the Washington Pike Church of the Nazarene, the Bethany Masonic Lodge #2 A.F. & A.M., and was very active in genealogy at the Brooke County Library.

Red is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Charlotte (Rine) Hunter; three children, Cynthia "Cindy" Norden and husband, Robert of Scott Depot, WV, Susan Mozingo of Wellsburg, WV, and Bruce Hunter and wife, Vicki of Beech Bottom, WV; seven grandchildren, Mitch (Holly) Grishkevich, Joyce Grishkevich and fiance Brandon Snodgrass, Nicholas Norden, Christopher Norden, Levi Hunter, Cassandra Hunter and fiance Michael Huff, and Erika Hunter; two great grandchildren, Harrison and Kinzleigh.

Visitation for Red will be held on Thursday, March 21st from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the Mullenbach Funeral Home 669 Main St. Follansbee, WV where funeral services will be held on Friday, March 22nd at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Brian Knight officiating.

Interment will follow in Franklin Cemetery in Wellsburg, WV.
