FLORENCE BETTINAZZI

Florence Tysk Bettinazzi, of Gibsonia, PA, died April 2, 2024, at UPMC Passavant Hospital McCandless in Pittsburgh, PA. Florence was born February 8, 1930 in Nanticoke, PA. She was a homemaker and member of St. Jude Church in Glen Dale, WV, for over 60 years before moving to the Pittsburgh area.

Florence was a cook for several years at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church Rectory in Moundsville. She worked at Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Glen Dale, WV retiring after 19 years in the dietary department. In 2001, she joined the Foster Grand- parents program tutoring children at Glen Dale Elementary Grade School for 10 years. The children and staff members at the school called her "Grandma Flo". She called the program her dream job because she loved working with the students.

Florence was preceded in death by Albert and Mary Tysk, her mother and father, her dear sister, Helen Tysk Andersson, brothers, Benjamin and Joseph Tysk, and her grandson, Jonathan Albert Mason. She is survived by her loving children and their spouses, William (Sherry) Bettinazzi of Hazard, KY, Ronald (Bobbie) Bettinazzi of Parker, CO, and Linda Mason (Charles Fedell) of Gibsonia, PA, and her grandchildren, Geona Roberts, Michael Bettinazzi, Alison Crowell, Luke Bettinazzi, and Marisa Mason, and eight beautiful great- grandchildren that she loved dearly.

Florence was a member of the Moundsville Senior Citizens group, St. Jude Women's Club, Glen Dale Hobby Toppers, former Moundsville Eagles, and Moundsville VFW.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, April 5, 2024 from 2 – 6 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Homes, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Funeral Home, 118 Grant Ave., Moundsville. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, April 6 at 10 am St. Jude Catholic Church, Glen Dale. Entombment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
