John Harvey Emery, 75 of Sherrard, WV, passed away Friday, April 6, 2024, at WVU Ruby surrounded by loved ones.
He was born December 30, 1948, in Glen Dale, WV, son of the late Downie and Anna Church Emery.
John served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. After his discharge, he worked at Marx Toy Plant, Ireland Coal Mine, Wheeling Machine Products, Shadyside Stamping, and Good Shepherd Nursing Home.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by two siblings, Mary Jane Hyde and Downie Emery, Jr.
Surviving is his wife of 53 years, Janet M. Conklin Emery; children: Gregory (Kim) Emery of Bethlehem and Colleen (Patrick) Bever of Warwood; two grandchildren: Carter and Cora Bever; three siblings: Linda (John) Gordon of Glen Dale, Sheila (Winston West) Garrison of Wheeling, and William Garth Emery of Wheeling; brother- in-law: Keith Hyde of Moundsville; sister- in-law: Elaine Emery of New Port Ritchey, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family will receive friends on Thursday from 11:30 a.m. until time of service at 12:30 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 1 Ridgecrest Rd., Bethlehem/ Wheeling.
Entombment in Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, Wheeling where the Moundsville Honor Guard will conduct Military Services.
