Robert S. Foster, born March 1, 1939 to Archibald and Betty Foster in Bridgeport, Ohio, was embraced by the gates of heaven on April 17, 2024.
In 1957 he met the love of his life, Betty Kilgore, whom he married in 1960. Robert was deeply proud of his four children, Pennie Foster-Fishman (Peter), Susan Dawson (Doug), Scot Foster (Cindy), and John Foster (Lee), and 8 grandchildren (Aiden, Emily, Evan, Oakley, Alyssa, Lucas, Sydney, and Faye). He is also survived by his three sisters, Mary Roscoe, Joan Reischman, and Eileen Haught.
He loved to fish, take care of his house and yard, devour history books, visit his grandchildren, and play and win pool, card and yard games. He was humble with a quiet intelligence and instilled in his children the importance of gratitude and generosity. Robert was an Air Force Veteran, United States Postal Service Letter Carrier, Union Leader, and deeply involved with the Catholic Church.
