Velma "Ruth" Harris, 89, of Glen Easton, WV, passed away, Saturday, April 6, 2024, surrounded by her family.
She was born August 22, 1934, in Glen Easton, WV, daughter of the late Marvin and Melissa Hubbs Rine.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband: Donald Brooks Harris; two sisters: Melba Burkhart and Erma Jefferson; and one brother: Eldwin Rine.
She was a member of Salem Church of Christ and a former member of TOPS and the Taylors Ridge Quilting Club.
Ruth was a loving, devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.
Survivors include two sons: Donald (Teri) Harris of Glen Easton, and Jeff (Kari) Harris of Sherman, TX; two daughters: Cathy (Alfie) Aston and Connie Harris both of Moundsville; eleven grandchildren: Amy, Alicia, Abby and Andrew Aston, Shelly (John) Obenshain, Chloe, Jackson and Luke Harris, Benjamin (Rachel) Harris, Ashley (Boone) Mashburn, and Charity; nineteen great-grandchildren: Jonathan and Jacob Obenshain; Oliver, Appollo, and Memphis Miller; Gideon and Isaac Davis; Kai and Kayla Lassiter; Ezeikiel, Clara, Josiah, Eli, Alaina, Joshua and Isaac Aston; Autumn, Paisley, and Dakota Mashburn and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-8 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville.
Family will also receive friends on Friday, April 12, 2024, from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at Hillview Terrace Church of Christ, 354 Middle Grave Creek Road, Moundsville with Andy Robison, Steve Harr and Chad Kuhns officiating.
Interment in Salem Cemetery, Glen Easton.
