Violet M. Berisford Pavilky, age 77, of Bridgeport, OH, passed away on Friday, Mach 29, 2024, at Liza's Place.
She was born August 20, 1946, in Glen Dale, daughter of the late Everett and Elsie Francies Berisford.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother: Stanley Berisford; and two sisters: Geneva Lashare and Zelda Koval.
She married Robert M. Pavilky on September 12, 1964, and they had two outstanding children, Michael R. Pavilky and Tammy A. Paree (Tom). Violet was blessed with three lovely grandchildren, Joshua Pavilky, Annabella Paree, and Angelina Paree. She is also survived by two sisters: Freda Blake and Silvia Shepherd, both of Moundsville; and several nieces and nephews.
Violet came from a strong farm work ethic in Marshall County. She graduated from the former Moundsville High School in 1964.
Violet started work at the former Ohio Valley Medical Center where she was a dedicated nursing assistant for 46 years.
Violet was always a giver and never a taker. This was evident with the love she provided through patient care, and in the way she dealt with her husband, children, family, and friends.
She embraced Roman Catholicism in 1995, and could be seen weekly at St. Alphonsus Sunday morning mass after her evening shift at the hospital.
Violet, we know you're with the holy one and the communion of the Saints. God bless you.
Family will receive friends Thursday from 4-7pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 1 Ridgecrest Rd., Bethlehem/Wheeling.
Funeral liturgy with mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 5, at 10am at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 2111 Market St., Wheeling, with Father Joseph Sebastian as celebrant.
Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
