VIRGINIA CONNER

Virginia Duffy Conner left this earth to start the next chapter of her life on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at the residence of her sister, Betty Duffy in Sarasota, FL

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Freda Thomas Duffy; her children, an infant son, Thomas Elwood Conner, Brent Allen Conner (Moundsville), and Brenda Conner Baucom (Washburn, MO); a brother, Robert I. Duffy (Moundsville); and a nephew William "Bill" Duffy (Moundsville).

She is survived by her sister, Betty Duffy; a brother, John (Linda) Duffy: a sister-in- law, Carolyn Duffy; a son-in-law, Bob Baucom of Washburn, MO; and many nieces and nephews.

She attended Calvary United Methodist Church and First Christian Church Disciples of Christ.

Virginia enjoyed traveling and exploring new places.

She embraced life and enjoyed every minute.

She was active in the FOE Auxiliary Moundsville #499 and later Elm Grove Auxiliary #389, where she held all offices except for secretary and treasurer on both the local and state level; also served as Mid-Atlantic Regional President and a Grand Auxiliary Trustee. The Auxiliary motto of "People Helping People" was very special to her. She supported all the charities but her two special projects were Make a Wish Foundation and Shriner's' Children Hospital.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, April 13th from 2pm until 4pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundville with Eagle Ritual by the Past State Presidents at 4pm and funeral services immediately following by Pastor Rodney Hubbs as officiant.

Interment in Halcyon Hills Memorial Park, Sherrard.
