It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of my beloved Husband and father, Gary Lemoyne Shreve who left us on May 15, 2024, at the age of 77. He was born on May 22, 1946, in Moundsville, WV.
Gary is survived by his wife Kathy (Hawkins) of 55 exciting years, and their two daughters Dawn (Randy) Beal their two sons, Cardin, and Brody. Meggan (Ben) Duke and their two children, Justin, and Leah.
He is also survived by many brothers and sisters, cousins, nephews, and nieces. Janice Sheets, Donna Evans, Joyce Ritchie, Sheila Rodgers, Melody Merser, Randy (Cathy) Shreve, Jerry Shreve, Pat Shreve, Barb Whitlatch.
He was preceded in death by his parents David and Zelma Shreve, Kay Shreve, Dave Shreve Jr. Debbie Kittle, Mike Evans, Angie Campbell, Amy Gates, and Bob Keller.
Gary loved his family, mowing grass, dancing, playing cards, helping at the FairGrounds, but most of all he loved his "Hit and Miss" antique engines. He started the Marshall County Antique Power Association over 30 years ago and it is still going strong. He traveled all over the US displaying his engines and unique finds, at all the different Engine shows. He loved to go antiquing. He spent countless joyful hours fixing up gas engines.
Gary could fix and build anything. He could rebuild a car just by listening to it. He worked in Macelroy coal mines as a wireman for over 30 years. He also owned his own construction company. He loved having cookouts and visiting people. It was not an issue for him to pack up and go see someone at any distance on a whim.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, May 17, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. and again Saturday at 11:00 am until time of service at 12:00 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Homes 118 Grant Ave, Moundsville, WV 26041 with Rev Kara Rowe as Celebrant.
