Lee "Tom" Thomas Cook, 62, of Glen Dale, WV, died Saturday, May 25, 2024, at home.
He was born March 14, 1962, in Wheeling, WV, the son of the late Louis Hans Cook and Virginia "Ginny" Kay Rafferty Cook
Tom was the administrator/director at Marshall County Health Department; worked as a respiratory therapist at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center from 1989-92. In 1992 he began serving as their clinical service manager. He was a staff nurse with Reynolds Memorial Hospital from 1991-93, and an industrial nurse with the Ormet Corporation from 1994-95.
He was a long-time member of Glen Dale United Methodist Church, a volunteer firefighter for over 30 years, a councilman for the City of Glen Dale, and Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 82. He was a member of the Lion's Club, Moundsville Rotary, Bridgeport Masonic Lodge, Steubenville Scottish Rite, and Wheeling Osiris Shiners.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, George and Anna Cook; maternal grandparents, Russell and Wilma Rafferty; father-in-law, Robert Harris; brother-in-law, Daniel Galloway; sister-in-law, Susan Harris Grafton; two nephews, Edwin and Roy Roger Grafton; and niece Michelle Resanovich Beaver.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Cindy Cook; precious and devoted rescue, Bella; four siblings, Sally (Nick) Resanovich of Monaca, PA, David (Beth McClure) Cook of Glen Dale, James Cook of Glen Dale, and Robin Galloway also of Glen Dale; mother-in-law, Dorothy Harris; two brothers-in-law, Allen (Randy DeBoard) Harris, and Roy Grafton; nieces, Charlee (Andrew) Richardson, Valerie Resanovich, Melissa Cousar, Paige Galloway, and Madison Galloway.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory, 400 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville, WV, where Masonic service will be held at 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Jonathan Moon officiating. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery in St. Clairsville, OH.
