MARY ANN BAKER

Mary Ann (Krieger) Baker, age 81, of New Martinsville, WV died Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Good Samaritan Hospice House, Wexford, Pennsylvania.

She was born in Wheeling, WV on May 26, 1942, to Roan Darnaby Krieger. She was married to Edward William Baker in June 1968, and they enjoyed a wonderful marriage and partnership until he preceded her in death in January 2006.

Mary Ann was a graduate of Triadelphia High School in Wheeling. She worked for Lee C Paul Insurance, Ormet Aluminum Corporation, Century 21, Brennan & Francis, Jackson Kelly law firm and RM&T. She was a member of St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in New Martinsville where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of their Little Flower Society. She was an active member of the New Martinsville Lions Club, and she was an avid bridge/card player.

In addition to her mother and husband, she was preceded in death by her niece, Cheryl Stupar and infant daughter Krista Marie.

She is survived by her sister Virginia Lee Stupar and her husband Ronald Stupar of Hilton Head, SC as well as two daughters, Shelby Cross and her husband Shawn of Allison Park, PA and Kimberly Spengler and her husband Wolfgang of Oberageri, Switzerland, five grand- children-Tyler Cross and his wife Alex of Parma, Ohio; Emily Cross and boyfriend Robert Stauffer of Morgantown, WV; Audrey, Savannah, and Wesley Spengler of Oberageri, Switzerland. She never knew a stranger and had many special friends who she considered family.

Family will be receive friends on Friday, May 31, 2024, from 2-8 pm at the Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory 751 Third St. New Martinsville, WV. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 11:30 am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 21 Rosary Road New Martinsville, WV, with Msgr. Kevin Quirk as celebrant.

Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery New Martinsville, WV.
