Patrick S. McCormick, lovingly known as Pat, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2024, at Liza's Place in Wheeling, WV, at the age of 59 after a brief courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on July 9, 1964, in Wheeling, WV, Pat lived a life filled with love, faith, and dedication to his family, church and community.
Pat worked diligently as a Payroll Specialist for Assured Business Services, where his integrity and precision made him a trusted colleague and friend. His passion for sports, especially the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and his spirited racquetball games, showcased his zest for life and camaraderie. Family vacations in Ocean City, MD, were cherished moments where he created lasting memories with his family.
A devout Catholic, Pat was a lifelong member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Warwood. His faith also guided his involvement with the Knights of Columbus and Ancient Order of Hibernians where he was a selfless contributor. He was a member of the Warwood Veterans Association for 41 years where he developed lasting friendships.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Maryann (Fahey) McCormick; brother Don McCormick; and in-laws Robert and Nancy Riser.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 34 years, Carol (Riser) McCormick of Wheeling; son Neil (Shannon) McCormick of Wheeling; daughter Colleen (Travis) Munn of Fayetteville, AR; siblings Tim (Dee) McCormick, David (Beth) McCormick, Maureen (Jim) Osborne, Kevin (Sheila) McCormick, and Terry McCormick; sisters- in-law Ellen McCormick, Diane (Dan) Sullivan, Joyce (Alan) Sonnefeld, and Gwen Porter; brother- in-law Bob (Lori) Riser; grandchildren Keeley and Beau McCormick; several nieces and nephews; and his lifelong friend Chris Pavlic.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 26, from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Homes Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 27, at 10:30 am at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 1508 Warwood Ave. with Rev. Joseph Wiley as celebrant. Interment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery at a date and time to be determined.
Pat's legacy of love, faith, and enthusiasm for life will forever inspire those who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace and may his memory be a guiding light for all the lives he touched.
