Thomas Bruce Kirkhart, age 78 of New Martinsville, WV passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024, at Arbors in Woodsfield OH, and was reunited with the love of his life, Darlene Locke Kirkhart.
He was born January 22, 1946, in New Martinsville, WV, the son of the late John W. and Alma Elizabeth (Minger) Kirkhart.
Thomas was retired from PPG as a repairman. He was a United States Army Veteran during the Vietnam War and served as an MP for 12 years.
He was a lifetime member of the Sistersville's VFW and American Legion, loved to hunt and fish and was a Christian by faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, in January 2024, Cynthia Darlene (Locke) Kirkhart; two brothers, William and John Kirkhart; two sisters, Velma Witschey and Wilma McIver.
Survivors include a daughter, Melissa (Donald) Shafer of New Martinsville; two grandchildren, Tavian and Geofferey Shafer; a best friend, Jack (Linda) Blake of Proctor; and a favorite niece, Sandy Brown of Sistersville, WV.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory, 751 Third Street, New Martinsville, WV, where services will be held Tuesday at 1pm with Pastor Tony Cox officiating.
