ELEANOR EVANS

She was born on June 5, 1936, in Wheeling, WV a daughter of the daughter of the late Charles Silvio and Anna Marie (Impavido) Mazzella. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband Matthew Evans Jr. on December 20, 2015.

She graduated from Wellsburg High School in 1954 and then graduated from Wheeling Hospital School of Nursing. She retired after many years from the Brooke County Health Department where she worked as a registered nurse. Eleanor was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

She is survived by four devoted children Michelle Evans at home, Anna Marie (Chris) Eagle of Glen Rock, PA, twin sons, Matthew (Lisa) Evans of York, PA, and Michael (Lori) Evans of Weirton, WV; one brother, Joseph Mazzella and companion Scott Beaver of Wheeling, WV; six grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas, and Matthew Anthony Eagle, Matthew Joseph, Michael, and Danielle Evans, and four great grandchildren, Peyton Eagle, Everett Eagle, Finnick Eagle, and Benjamin Eagle.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, from 4-8 P.M. at the Mullenbach Funeral Home at 669 Main St. Follansbee, WV. A vigil service will be held on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

A Catholic funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 3rd at 10 a.m. at The St Johns Evangelist Church at 1300 Charles St. Wellsburg, WV with the Rev. Father Justin Golna as celebrant.

Interment will follow in Kadesh Chapel Cemetery in Beech Bottom, WV.
