Nancy Ann (Naples) Dvoracek Stenger, of Wheeling, WV, passed away unexpectedly on May 28, 2024, in Naples, FL, at the age of 69.
Nancy was born April 30, 1955 in El Paso, TX, a daughter of the late A. Albert and Mary Margaret (Reith) Naples.
Nancy's dedication and commitment to her profession as a Practical Nurse spanned an impressive 45 years. Throughout her career, she touched countless lives while working at the former Ohio Valley Medical Center, alongside Dr. James Comerci, at the Health Plan of the Upper Ohio Valley, and with both Valley Hospice and Amedisys Hospice.
Her passion for nursing was only rivaled by her love for animals, especially her cherished horses. Nancy found joy and solace in their company, reflecting her nurturing spirit and deep compassion.
A devout member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Wheeling, Nancy's faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and providing her with strength and comfort.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her step-mother, Mary Lou (Uber) Naples; and her former husband, Lou Dvoracek. She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her two children, Amanda Follayttar and her husband, Joseph of Pittsburgh, PA; Dr. Lucas A. Dvoracek and his wife, Dr. Amelia C. Lucisano of Houston, TX; her devoted husband, Donald L. Stenger of Wheeling; her sisters, Mary Stuckey and Margaret Dean, both of Charlotte, NC; her step-sister, Pamela Hartman and her husband, Joe of Wheeling; and her adored grandchildren, Connor and Brady Follayttar, and Vincenzo Dvoracek. Nancy will also be dearly missed by her close friend, Ellen Hamm of Wheeling.
Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm, Friday, June 7, 2024, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger Street, Wheeling, where a vigil service will be held at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am, Saturday, June 8, 2024, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Wheeling, with Rev. Jeeson V. Stephan as celebrant. Private interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling, at the convenience of the family.
