Paulette Frances Schott, born on March 4, 1950, in Glen Dale, WV, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2024, in Benwood, WV, at the age of 74.
Paulette dedicated her life to caring for others, spending her professional career as a Registered Nurse at the former Ohio Valley Medical Center (OVMC) in Wheeling. Her compassion and commitment to her patients were a testament to her unwavering dedication to the nursing profession.
A devoted member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Paulette's faith was a guiding force in her life, providing her strength and solace.
Paulette was preceded in death by her loving husband, Frederick W. "Fred" Schott; her parents, Paul E. and Jessie F. (Brant) Leja; her sisters Patricia Rhoades and Mary Margaret Leja; and her brother-in-law, George "Tim" Howard.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness through her surviving family and friends, including her beloved daughter, Dawn Weas; her sister, Rita Howard; her cherished granddaughter, Hannah Weas; and many nieces and nephews who will carry her memory in their hearts.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Paulette's life at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Wheeling Chapel, 1400 Eoff St., with visitation on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, from 10am-12pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1pm at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph M. Augustine as celebrant, after which Paulette will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery in Wheeling.
