Damian Joseph Barnes, 63, of Wellsburg, WV, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at his residence.
Damian was born on May 28, 1961 in Wheeling, WV. He was the son of the late Richard W. Barnes and Magdalene "Mac" (Rasz) Barnes.
Damian was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Wellsburg, WV. He retired after 20 plus years with Fedex in the IT Department as the Executive Supervisor of Programming. Many will remember Damian for his love of golfing and bowling in prior years, being a member of the Moose and Elks in Wellsburg and playing guitar with his friends.
In addition to his parents, Damian was preceded in death by his two cousins, John Rasz and Patrick Magee.
Damian is survived by his two beloved daughters, Bethany Barnes-Petrie and her husband, Cody of Follansbee, WV and Lauren Mazzone and her fiance, Sam Delong of Weirton, WV, and former wife Diane Barnes. He also has many cherished cousins to include, Carol Jones, Marguerite Bostonia, Madelon Rasz, Mike Rasz, Monica Lyle, Becky Weller, and numerous friends.
The family has opted for a private service to include a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Wellsburg, WV with Father Justin Golna, presiding.
