GLENA POWELL

The beloved Glena Jo Powell, age 55, of Glen Dale, WV, was welcomed home by Jesus on July 8, 2024.

She was born July 19, 1968 in Glen Dale, the daughter of Margaret Miller (Montes) and the late Glen Roger Miller, with whom she will be reunited in Heaven.

Glena graduated from John Marshall High School in 1986 and married the love of her life, Randy Leon Powell, in 1994. They spent 30 years together laughing and recently renewed their vows in Asturias, Spain.

She was the most incredible mother to her only child, daughter Brandi Jo Powell of New York City. Her unwavering pride and belief in her daughter's dreams have kept Brandi motivated her entire life. She was her daughter's fiercest ally, her best friend, and her partner in crime. She also deeply loved her daughter's life partner Alec Kuskey and always protected him from Brandi's antics.

She was a passionate member of the Moundsville Baptist Church where she also sang in the choir, a loving community figurehead as Chief Deputy at the Marshall Country Clerk's Office, and a jewelry consultant at The Jeweled Bird on weekends with her close friends Samuel T. Posin and Joan L. Berlow Smith.

Glena had an indescribably beautiful presence to anyone who has ever met her. She radiated joy, humor, and love. Her passions included spending time with family, decorating her house with endless Longaberger baskets, counting down the days to Christmas, looking at jewelry, and being ornery. She equally loved pranking her loved ones and making them feel special with homemade gift baskets and sweet treats. Her smile lit up an entire room and her hug made you feel at home. She was a friend to everyone and will be missed by so many people, each of whom she touched forever with her generosity and fun-loving spirit.

In addition to her loving husband Randy, daughter Brandi, and mother Margaret, she leaves behind her three dear sisters that she loved beyond measure: Connie (Alan) Howard, Linda (Jerry) Stewart, and Kim (David) Kaylor.

She will also be missed by her loving family; nieces and nephews Jon, Sean, Jeremy, Marisa, Justin, Maggie, DJ, Shane, Brookelyn, and their respective significant others; great nieces Aaliyah, Adalyn, Briar, and great nephew Cael.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 11, at Grisell Funeral Home from 2:00 to 4:00PM and 7:00 to 9:00PM at 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville. The service will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday, July 12, with Pastor Tony Romano & Ben Mollohan officiating 2:00PM. A bereavement dinner will follow, with details provided at the visitation and service.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Marshall Country Childhood Cancer Awareness Group in honor of Abby Frohnapfel.
