LARRY KELLER

Larry M. Keller was born August 29, 1950 in Glen Dale, WV to parents, Herman William Keller and Eileen Allen Keller.

Larry grew up in Moundsville and the Cameron area, working on various farms as a youth and honing skills as both a mechanic and carpenter.

He attended Cameron HS and married Susan Burlingham in 1969. Larry enlisted into the US Army in August 1969 and proudly served his country for three years as a Diesel Mechanic in Germany.

Returning to Marshall County, Larry and Susan had two children, M. Shane Keller and Billie Jo Keller. He was employed at the Valley Camp Alexander Mine through the 1970’s, where he worked as a roof bolter, buggy boy and mechanic. When the mine permanently closed, Larry was employed at Triangle Conduit until he started working independently as a mechanic and then as a carpenter.

Larry married Roseanna Dakan Berisford in 1991 and became a loving step-father to her two sons, Jason Berisford and Josh Berisford. Purchasing a farm on Keller Road off Robert’s Ridge, Larry loved rural living, mowing his fields and yard, planting a garden, deer hunting in the fall and working in his carpenter workshop. He built a beautiful home for his family that he had designed and took great pride in this accomplishment.

Serving as Treasurer of the Fraternal Order Eagles Aerie 499 for many years, Larry was also a member of the American Legion Post #3, both located in Moundsville. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting and extra-curricular school events. Pappy, as he was lovingly called, often took his grandchildren rides in his side-by-side, ‘The Pappy Mobile’.

Larry was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a loyal friend and is beloved by many. Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his wife of 32 years, Roseanna Dakan Keller; three sons, Shane (Andrea Wnek) Keller, Jason (Jackie Wilhelm) Berisford, and Josh (Keri Materkoski) Berisford, all of Moundsville; a daughter, Billie Keller of Florida; seven grandchildren, Jazmine (Troy Prochaska) Keller, Tori Berisford (Dalyn) Grimm, Hunter (Carlee Crupe) Keller, Tristan Berisford (Alex) Burton, Baylie Berisford, Owen Berisford and Cheyenne Keller. Larry was blessed to have two great- granddaughters born this spring, Hayden Aurora Grimm and McKinley Rose Burton. Larry is also survived by two good buddies, Jack Thomas and Joe Lucas; four cousins, who were always more like brothers, Bob (Francie) Allen, Paul (Madelyn) Allen, James-Ronald (Kathy) Allen and David (Patty) Utter; two aunts, Patty Holmes and Beverly (Mickey) Poling; other cousins; and numerous friends and neighbors. Larry will be forever loved and deeply missed by all, and he will be desperately missed by his loyal walking partner, a little black rescue dog named Sam.
