Lawrence Edward Joseph O'Brien Sr, 85, of Wheeling, WV passed away on Monday, July 8, 2024, at home.
He was born August 28, 1938, in Benwood, WV to the late Jessie Moneske Davis.
Lawrence proudly served in the U.S. Navy in communications and was also a former coal miner, a lab technician for Tradet Laboratories, and retired from Family Services.
In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his wife, Andrea O'Brien (nee Herrera); brother, Edward O'Brien; sister, Carolyn Bonilla; son-in-law, Robert Druschel; and infant grandson, Kenneth Lawrence O'Brien.
He is survived by his children, Lawrence O'Brien, Jr., Anthony O'Brien, Sr., Andrea (Kevin) O'Brien-Graham and former son-in-law, Douglas Nickerson, Esmeralda O'Brien, and Theresa O'Brien; brothers, Robert (MaryLou) O'Brien of Florida and Milton "Mickey" (Rhonda) Davis, Jr; 15 grandchildren 25 great-grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.
Friends will be received on Friday, July 12, 2024 from 4pm-7pm at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St. Wheeling, WV. Service will be on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 11am at the same location. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
