Ronald Earl Beatty, 84, of Wellsburg, WV died peacefully on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, in his sleep at his daughter Ronda's home in Steubenville, OH.
Born November 27, 1939, in Wellsburg, WV a son of the late Earl Beatty and Julia (Welch) Beatty. In addition to his parents, Ron is preceded in death by his two sisters, Carole Beatty Pittman and Barbara Beatty Edwards, and niece Lisa Pittman.
He graduated from Wellsburg High School in 1958 and went on to serve in the United States Army in 1961 in Patton's Army in the tank division as a tank commander. Upon returning from the Army, he attended West Liberty State College where he played baseball with Joe Niekro. Ronnie retired from Weirton Steel Corporation after 30 years.
Ronnie was a true sports enthusiast and excelled at any sport he played. In his early years he played on many softball teams, most notably the Cipoletti Exxon Team having won many tournaments. Later after his softball days he took up golf and excelled to be a low handicap and played in many tournaments with his friends.
He is survived by his three daughters, Dr. Rae Ann Beatty Cipoletti and companion Darin of Butler, PA, Ronda Teramana and companion Jeff Bernard of Steubenville, OH, and Rebecca Jo McCoy of Wheeling, WV; six grandchildren, Chas Cipoletti and fiancee Christina and Dr. Lauren Cipoletti Snyder and husband Preston, Jordan Teramana and his wife, Karly, Justin Teramana and companion Kim Pham, Josh and Jonathan McCoy; and two great grandchildren, Vince and Vivian Teramana, his former wife and mother of his children Patricia (Ron) Rice along with several nieces and nephews and many friends.
Visitation for Ronnie will be held on Sunday, July 28th from 3:00 P.M. until time of a celebration of Ronnie's Life at 6:00 P.M. at the Mullenbach Funeral Home 669 Main St. Follansbee, WV, with Pastor Joy Leasure officiating.
Inurnment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Valley Hospice.
