Sandra Assaro, 82, of Wheeling, passed away on Sunday July 7, 2024.
She was born June 20, 1942, in Wheeling, WV, daughter of the late Fred and Betty Lunau.
She was a member of Corpus Christi Church, a nursing graduate of WV Northern College, and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from West Liberty State University. She was certified in Neurology and Plastic Surgery and worked for Plastic Surgery Incorporated until May 1998.
She is survived by her husband, Anthony "Louis" Assaro; sons, Louis Anthony Assaro and wife Melody, of Clarksburg, Tony Assaro and wife Marie of Wheeling; grandchildren, Jennifer Bryan and husband Bo of Wheeling, Jessica Brady and husband Kyle of Wheeling, Zachary Assaro and his wife Shawnee of Mt. Clare, WV, Scott Assaro of Clarksburg; great- grandchildren, Josie Bryan, Dawson Brady, Dylan Brady, Brit Assaro, and Baylor Assaro; three close sisters-in-law, Rosemarie Scheuer and husband Jim, Tina Teufel of Wheeling, and Shirley Zambiasi and husband George of Plymouth, MI; one brother Jon Lunau and his wife, Iryna of Strasburg, OH and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Thursday July 11, 2024 from 4:30-7:30 pm and Kepner Funeral Home, Burke Chapel, 2101 Warwood Ave., Wheeling (304-277-2722). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024 at 10 am at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
