BARBARA BRAYEC

Barbara Brayec, 98, of Bethlehem, WV passed away peacefully on August 1, 2024. She was born on May 9, 1926 and she lived a faithful life marked by dedication and service.

Barbara was a retired laborer from the Wheeling Tile Company. She devoted herself not only to her work but also to her community. Through- out her life, she was an active member of several organizations including the Thursday Music Club, Beth Acres Garden Club, Ladies Day Out, The Salvation Army Wo- men's League, and the Bethlehem Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Parascavia (Rafa) Harasiuk; her husband, John Joseph Brayec; and her brothers John, Michael, Peter, George, Paul, Adam, and Stephen Harasiuk, and Nicholas Harasiuk Harris; and sisters Anna Endzevich, Mary Podolia, Eva Harasiuk, and Catherine Harasiuk.

Barbara is survived by her devoted son, Kent Brayec, and his longtime girlfriend Beth Zoeckler. She also leaves behind several special nieces and nephews who held a cherished place in her heart.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Peterson Rehabilitation Hospital for their constant care and compassion.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, August 6, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm, with a Vigil Service at 7 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger Street, Wheeling. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, August 7, at 11 am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Jeeson V. Stephan as celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
