John J. Posego, age 90, of New Martinsville, WV, passed away Monday, August 5, 2024.
He was born April 28, 1934, in Finleyville, PA, the son of the late John and Mary Malinchak Posego.
John graduated from Carnegie Mellon University as a Chemical Engineer and worked as Sr. Project Engineer at PPG.
He was a member of the New Martinsville United Methodist Church. John was well known for his woodworking & furniture crafting skills, which extended to his family and the church. He was an excellent bridge player. He & his bridge partner, Jerry Pellett, won a large tournament that included 150 people, some of whom were professional bridge players.
John was an avid Steelers fan, and he would be delighted if everyone wore Black & Gold on Saturday.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Joan Meeks Posego; brother, Robert Posego.
Survivors include two daughters, Becky (Jeff) Kelly of Windsor, PA, Susan Posego of New Martinsville; two grandchildren, Whitney (Joel) Hargett and Olivia Bittle, three great grandchildren, Jax, Julian, and Joel Dexter; 2 sisters, Jean Brodt of South Park, PA and Judy (Mike) Hruska of Alvin, TX. Family will receive friends on Saturday, August 10, 2024, from 11am until time of service at 12:00 pm for a combined service for John and Joan, at the New Martinsville United Methodist Church, 10 Howard Jeffers Drive, New Martinsville, WV with Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Kanode officiating.
Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery, New Martinsville, WV.
