NANCY ORR

Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Wheeling Hospital.

She was born April 23, 1932 in Wheeling to the late Carl & Anna (Dullion) Fischer.

Joann devoted her life as a caregiver. She was generous with her time, volunteering at her church and the Ohio Valley Medical Center, but her first passion was family. As a young mom, she cared for her own aging mother, even while handling the full-time job of raising three boys. Through the years, Joann hosted countless holiday celebrations and worked hard to keep the family connected. She was quiet by nature but enjoyed gathering her friends for a game. Joann was compassionate, but a fierce protector of those she loved. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Wilbur Orr in 2004; three siblings, Marietta (Joseph) King, Roy (Doris) Fischer and Paul Fischer.

Nancy is survived by her three sons, Kenneth (Susan) Orr, Bruce (Susan) Orr, and Timothy Orr; two sisters, Norma (Charles, deceased) Clark and Connie (Ronald, deceased) White; sister-in-law, Barbara; two grandchildren, Ashley (Matt) Baker and Whitney (Jeff) Williams; five great-grandchildren, Zoe, Zadie, Brooklyn, Xander and Kennedy Jo; and several nieces & nephews.

Friends will be received on Friday, August 16, 2024 from 6-8pm at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St. Wheeling, WV (304-242-2311) and again on Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 11am until the time of service at 1pm at Roney’s Point United Presbyterian Church, with Tim Orr officiating. Interment to follow at West Alexander Cemetery.
