Russell James Neff, age 81, of Benwood, WV died Thursday, August 29, 2024 in Benwood.
He was born February 20, 1943 in Glen Dale, WV the son of the late Russell and Nora Blake Neff.
He was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Vietnam War as part of the 1st Calvary Division; retired from Wheeling- Pittsburgh Steel coil coating line with 40 years of service; a member of the McMechen Church of God; loved watching his grandchildren play sports, gardening, the outdoors and sporting events; never met a stranger.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Nile "Zeke" Neff; and two sisters, Wilda Sullivan and Donna Jean Neff.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Broski Neff; a son, Anthony (Jolynn) Neff of Wellsburg, WV; a daughter, Jennifer Neff (Adam Olmsted) of McMechen, WV; two granddaughters, Franki and Grace Neff; and a grandson, Benjamin Henderson.
Private services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
