THOMAS BEVER
Thomas Michael Bever, 79, passed away on August 13, 2024, in his hometown of Wheeling with his family by his side. Tom was born on February 28, 1945, the son of Paul Edwin and Margaret Hannah (Moore) Bever.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by numerous friends and colleagues.
Tom leaves behind his wife Deborah “Debby” Ann (McPeek) Bever; sons Patrick (Colleen) Bever and Christopher Bever; grandchildren Carter and Cora; sisters Barbara Hostetter and Judy Heilmeier; sister-in-law Gerry (Russ) Lilley; several nieces and nephews; and lifelong friends too numerous to count.
Tom loved playing Bridge, spending time with his grandchildren, and supporting Wheeling hockey from the Thunderbirds to the Nailers. He will be fondly remembered for his favorite things including orange sherbet, vanilla milk- shakes, Pepsi, fishing, golf, baseball, golden retrievers, and the color blue. Tom was an Eagle Scout and an Army Veteran having served in the Vietnam War from 1968-1970.
A Memorial Gathering for Tom will take place on Saturday, August 17, from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. A Memorial Service officiated by Pastor Chris Figaretti will commence at 2:00 pm followed by Military Honors by the Moundsville Honor Guard and US Army, all at the Altmeyer Funeral Homes Wheeling Chapel, 1400 Eoff St.
