Andrew Robert Abercrombie died on Friday, June 21, 2024, in Strongsville, OH, with his devoted wife of 27 years, Pauline, at his side.
Robert was born June 18, 1941 in Wheeling, WV, eldest son of Andrew and Edna Abercrombie. He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1959, and West Liberty State College, Class of 1964. He began his professional career at U.S. Steel Corporation in Pittsburgh, PA and thereafter served in executive positions at North American Rockwell Corporation, International Harvester, Leaseway Transportation, Inc. and owner and CEO of BMI Bulk Materials, Inc. and Domino Trucking.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, William, and wife, Maxine. Survivors include his wife, Pauline, daughter, Kelly Zidar, stepdaughters Kathleen Hoehn (Jerry) and Susan Allwood (John), sisters, Judith Moyle (Pat), Margaret Coyne (Steve), Joanne Linebaugh (Nick), and brother Timothy (Mary).
A Memorial Mass for Robert will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 12:00pm at St. Joseph's Cathedral, 1300 Eoff Street, Wheeling WV.
