BETTY DANEHART

Betty N. Danehart, 95, of Wheeling, WV, passed away on September 14, 2024 at Wheeling Continuous Care.

Betty was born in Zanesville, OH, on October 11, 1928, a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Nosman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert H. Danehart; and her son, Murray A. Danehart.

Betty was a 25 year retired eligibility specialist for the WV Department of Human Services. She was a third generation member of the former Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, now Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was also actively involved in the Women's Club of Wheeling, Wheeling High School alumni committee and Meals on Wheels.

Surviving are her son, Mark S. (Penny Shepherd) Danehart of Barnesville, OH; sister-in-law, Shirley (Roy) Lonie and David Schlosser, Cranberry Township, PA; Goddaughter, Brenda (David Gessler) Danehart, Colton of Wheeling. WV, Rhonda Miller (Dave); cousins, Sherry (Mike) Hennen, Wheeling, WV, Drew Danehart, Columbus, OH., Raye Joyce (Bill) Sheets and Matthew (Susie and Zoey), Oregon, Pru and Susanna Naseman, Wimbourne, England.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, from 6-8 p.m at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger St., Wheeling, WV and on Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m at Grace Evangelical Church, Bethlehem, WV. Interment will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery.
