Peacefully and surrounded by his family, Darryl Gene Isler passed away on September 17, 2024, at the age of 68 years. His final, pain-free, moments were at AdventHealth Hospital in Orlando, FL.
He was born in Steubenville, OH, but moved to Wheeling, WV, early in life. He attended Wheeling High School and lived on 13th Street. His work ethic was unparalleled. He was determined to provide for his family and showed that by working at Centre Foundry for 38 years. Not even feet of snow could stop him from leaving each morning. In addition to spending time with his family, he enjoyed watching his westerns as well as enjoying his favorite seafood dishes, Red Lobster's Ultimate Feast and Steve's Fish and Chips (Steubenville, OH). He had recently moved to Orlando, FL, to be closer to his grandchildren.
He was preceded by his parents, Eugene Isler and Ruth Isler Crawford, as well as his brother, Michael Jackson.
He will be lovingly remembered by his stepmother, Frances Jackson Isler; his devoted wife of 46 years, Cecilia; sons: Derrel and Jarrett (Melanie); grandchildren: Cameran, Raegan, and Hayden; brothers, Steven Rideoutt, Nathan Van Isler, James (Faith) Montgomery, and Cornell Smith; sisters, Carolyn Johnson, Sharon Isler, Syliva Rideoutt, Gloria (Dale) Griffin, Pamela Rideoutt, Olga Rideoutt. Gena Isler, as well as many relatives and friends.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. At the request of Darryl, no service will be held.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to all of the medical staff for their care and compassion over the years.
