Doris Jean Collinvitti, 87, of Wheeling, WV, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Wheeling Continuous Care Center.
She was born on November 30, 1936, in Wheeling, a daughter of the late Romeo and Rose (Barna) Collinvitti. Doris was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. In her spare time she enjoyed reading and sketching but above most she enjoyed spending time with her dogs.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her two sisters, Gloria Collinvitti Kiger and Pennie Collinvitti Pashalis; her brother, Donald A. Collinvitti; a nephew, Christopher Collinvitti and her beloved pet Cairn Terriers.
Doris is survived by a nephew, Thomas L. Collinvitti of St. Peters, MO; three nieces, Deborah (John) Shook of Moundsville, WV, Melanie Collinvitti of Martins Ferry, OH and Cynthia Collinvitti of Allen, TX; a great-niece, Heather Shook of San Jose, CA and numerous cousins and friends.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, September 23, 2024 at 10 am at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Bishop's Chapel, with Fr. John Soplinski officiating. Interment will immediately follow.
The family would like to thank the staff at Continuous Care Center Wheeling Hospital for the loving and compassionate care she received.
