Esther (Koris) Khoury, 95, of Wheeling, WV passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Wheeling Continuous Care Center.
She was born May 19, 1929 in Wheeling, WV to the late John & Freda (Stefanelis) Koris. She graduated from Wheeling High School and was a lifetime member of St. John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church. Esther was an active member of Ladies of the Philoptoches. The church was very important to her. She spent hours volunteering for the food festival. She retired from Wesbanco Bank where she worked for over 35 years.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Khoury; sisters, Marina Tsoras, Bessie Kapper, Angela Koris, and Mary Carney; and nephew, Thomas Tsoras.
Esther is survived by her caretaker and nephew, Theodore "Ted" (Joyce) Tsoras of Wheeling, WV; nephew, John (DellMarie) Tsoras, of Akron, OH; niece, Kathy Carney, of Wheeling, WV; step- daughter, Janice Khoury Donley; step- granddaughter, Allison Donley (John); step- granddaughter, Cara (Jason) Boch; step-son, Naif Khoury; step-daughter, Paula Khoury; numerous great nieces and nephews; and numerous great-great- nieces and nephews.
Service will be held at St John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church, 2215 Chapline St. Wheeling, WV on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 10am, with Father Demetrios Tsikouris officiating. Entombment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made in Esther's memory to St John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church.
