John "Jay" Thomas Ellis, Jr., 66, of Wheeling, WV, passed away in his home on September 5, 2024.
John who was lovingly referred to as Jay was born March 7, 1958 in Wheeling, the son of the late Victoria (Platt) & Jay Ellis, Sr.
He is preceded in death by his wife Robin B. Pajak Ellis & their son J.T. Ellis.
Jay & his wife Robin were loved by countless folks throughout the area & more. A true Renaissance man who started out at J. Ellis Roofing Co. He would go on to work for Consol Mines & eventually Carolina Furniture. After his Father Jay's passing, he took over the business which would eventually lead to a joint business venture with the love of his life Robin, creating Ellis Interiors & Property Investors. In the later years he would be employed by Kalkreuth Roofing, WVNCC, & lastly as a guard at Reynolds Memorial Hospital serving in his final professional capacity, but his greatest service would always be to the Lord first & foremost in which he served honorably & graciously as a provider for his family that the Lord so richly blessed him with.
He is survived by his daughter, Simone Ellis & her husband, James Ellis and their daughter, Jayliana Robin Ellis who is Robin & Jay's namesake. He also leaves behind granddaughter, Mia Ellis, grandson, Hayes Warble; brothers, Beau & Duane Ellis; sister, Carmen Ellis; extended granddaughter, Jalissa; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
