Martha Jane Tabscott Bloyd Haigwood died Sunday, September 1, 2024 at home.
She was born September 10, 1933 at 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon at home in Glen Dale, WV, the daughter of the late William and Merle Mayfield Bloyd.
She was a member of Simpson United Methodist Church for over 60 years; a 40 year member of Mound Chapter DAR; and a member and past president of Thursday Music Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Col. Douglas Haigwood; a niece, V. Kay Kesselring; five sisters, Anne B. Burke, Maryebeth Bloyd, Billie Bloyd, Virginia Kesselring, and Patricia Burkle; and three brothers-in-law, Elmer Burke, Glenn Kesselring and Stan Burkle.
Survivors include her nieces, Nancy (Lynn) Brant, Marsha (Joanne) Kesselring, Mary Frances Tennant, Bridget (Chad) McClelland, Leslie Tennant, Maria (Quilla) Otto-Jacobs, Bethany Ann Tennant, Candace Ann Kesselring and Jewel Kesselring; nephews, Glenn (Dixie) Kesslering, James (Mary) Burke, William Burke, David Burkle, Glenn (Lida) Kesselring, Aaron (Veronica) Kesselring, Derrick Tennant, Donald (Missy) Tennant, and Alek Kesselring; and her step-family in Tennessee, Mary (Rev. Arthur) Lodge and their extended family.
Family will receive friends on Thursday from 4-7pm and Friday from 12noon until time of Funeral Service at 1pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville with Rev. Kara Rowe officiating.
Interment in Mt. Rose Cemetery, Moundsville.
