DOROTHY HARR
Dorothy Brand Harr peacefully went home to Jesus on October 13, 2024, at the age of 85. She was born February 25th, 1939, in Wheeling, WV to the late Robert “Paul” and Virginia Brand.
After graduating from Warwood High School in Wheeling, Dorothy continued her education earning a degree in Music from Ithaca college in New York.
On May 17, 1963, she married William “Bill” Harr, Jr.
Dorothy was an accomplished pianist and organist, sharing her gift by playing worship music at various churches over the years. She also taught piano, nurturing the love of music in her students. In addition to music, Dorothy had a passion for gardening and enjoyed traveling both within the country and abroad. She was an avid West Virginia University (WVU) and Steeler football fan and rarely missed a game.
She is survived by her husband William Harr, Jr.; her sister Nancy (George) Madison; four children: William (Cheryl) Harr, Susan (Keith) Orzolek, David (Monica) Harr, Brian (Rachelle) Harr; and nine grandchildren: Jared, Bradley, Zachery, Kordell, Olivia, Virginia, Hannah, Hunter, and Hayleigh. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Brand, and daughter, Sally Harr.
Services will be held at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road, Bridgeport, OH, on Thursday, October 17th from 10am till of the funeral service at 1pm. Dorothy will be laid to rest at Holly Memorial Gardens in Pleasant Grove, OH.
In keeping with Dorothy’s love of the arts, in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Towngate Theatre at Oglebay Institute or Oglebay Park in Wheeling, WV.
