JAMES BRUHN

He was born August 4, 1934, in Wheeling, WV son of George Carl Bruhn IV and Elmina Mozena Bruhn.

Jim ran the family business, Bruhn’s Radiator Shop, after the passing of his Father and prior to his 25-year career with AAA (American Automobile Association) retiring as President and General Manager of the Northern WV Automobile Club in Morgantown, WV.

He was involved with many Wheeling & Morgantown community civic & social organizations including Rotary, United Way, Convention & Visitors Bureau and Chamber of Commerce. Jim was a multi-gallon blood donor.

Jim was an outstanding 3-sport athlete at Triadelphia High School (Football, Baseball & Basketball) before attending WVU (Football) and graduating from West Liberty State College. Jim was All-State in Football making the North Team and he was a member of THS’s 1949 Undefeated Football Team. He served his country in the Coast Guard.

Jim loved to get a group together either at the house hosting WVU gameday gatherings, before walking to the game, the first Saturday in May for Kentucky Derby Parties or for another love fishing. Jim introduced countless friends and family to his annual Canadian fishing trips in Arnstien, Ontario at Cudmore’s.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother Jerry Lee Bruhn and daughter Victoria Charlene Bruhn.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 21 years Karen Bruhn, sister MaryAnn Dickman (Norm), brother George Carl Bruhn V (Syfra) and son Jim Bruhn (Jodi).

Friends will be received for a memorial visitation on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 from 12:00 PM until the time of the memorial service at 2:00 PM at Kepner Funeral Homes, 166 Kruger Street, Wheeling, WV (304-242- 2311). Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
