Phyllis June Harrington, passed away peacefully on September 30th, 2024 at Peterson Rehabilitation Hospital in Wheeling, W.V. She was born on February 20th, 1938 in Elizabeth, NJ to the late Harry and Loretta Ebert.
As a child, Phyllis attended Webster School and later graduated from Wheeling H.S. She married Earl H. Cole, Jr. in 1956, who passed away in 1987.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her son Earl H. Cole III, her daughter Ruth Elaine Bucklin, her sister Lois Custer, and her first grandson Caleb Edward Cole.
Left to cherish her memory are her son: Keith Edward Cole (Milagros); grandchildren: Phyllis Patricia Lee Fox, Rose Arlene Putvin (Casey), Caitlin Laurette McCleave (Warren) and Nathaniel Edward Cole. She will also be missed by her great grandchildren: Dyland Jeffery Fox, Jude Alan McCleave, Marcel Laurent McCleave, Cassian Grey McCleave, and Audrey Laverne Putvin; and her brothers Harry Asa Ebert and Roy Thomas Ebert (Marie).
In July 1966 the Cole's left everything behind to move to a warmer and dryer climate, Phoenix, AZ to save the life of their youngest son Keith Edward (age 7). He made a full recovery.
She worked at and retired from Motorola and Kmart. However, Phyllis' life work was to help those in need. She was always compassionate and encouraging to the poor and needy with food and her hand made quilts.
Phyllis leaves a legacy of love and she will never be forgotten.
Services will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 1:00pm at Park View Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, Wheeling.
