DONAL CROW

Donal Milton Crow, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones at Valley Hospice Liza’s Place Care Center South on October 31, 2024, at the age of 90. Born on February 11, 1934, in Knoxville, West Virginia, Donal lived a life marked by dedication to family, work, and his many interests.

Donal was a devoted husband to Helen Crow, with whom he shared 66 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a loving family that includes their daughters: Peggy Richmond of Moundsville, WV; Cindy (Robert) Trent of Moundsville, WV; Dawn (Ed) Crawford of Moundsville, WV; and Lisa (Brian) Dobbs of Moundsville, WV. He was also a cherished grandfather to Joey (Loni) Richmond, Paul Trent, Cecelia Trent, Dustin (Laura) Crawford, Jared (Kristin) Stephens, Devon Dobbs, Morgan Dobbs (Andrew Reynolds), and Connor Dobbs. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Claire Richmond, Taylor Morgan, Wesley Morgan, Gavin Crawford, Maverick Crawford, Tristian Stephens, Logan Stephens, Hudson Stephens, and Fallon Reynolds. Donal also leaves behind several beloved nieces and nephews.

During his working years, Donal was employed as a Dye Setter at Wheeling Stamping in Warwood, WV, where he was well-respected for his skill and dedication. His time in the United States Navy was a source of immense pride, during which he served honorably on the USS Iowa and the USS Galveston.

Donal had a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures in life. He was passionate about old cars, hunting and fishing, mechanical things, and old steam tractors. He cherished vacations with his family and enjoyed the thrill of auctions. A lover of Westerns, he also had an affinity for reading, particularly the works of Louis L’Amour.

He is preceded in death by his father, John Wesley Crow; his mother, Jennie (Fair) Crow; his brothers, Dewey Edward Crow and Elmer Wayne Crow; his sisters, Francis Cain, Margaret Bungard, and Florence Schaffer of Moundsville, WV; his son-in-law, Joe Richmond; and his grandson, Zachary Richmond.

Visitation will be held at the CARE Funeral Home, 1500 2nd Street, Moundsville, on Tuesday, November 5, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., and on Wednesday, November 6, from 11 a.m. to Noon. The funeral service, officiated by Pastor Rodney Hubbs, will commence at Noon on Wednesday, followed by a graveside service at Halcyon Hills Memorial Gardens. Full military honors will be provided by the Moundsville Veterans Honor Guard.
