PHILLIP ASPENWALL II
Phillip Michael Aspenwall II of Wenatchee, Washington (originally of Mt. Pleasant, Ohio and formerly of Seattle, Washington) died on Thursday, October 24, 2024 after a decades-long struggle with an unnamed neurodegenerative disease. Born April 17, 1965, he was the oldest of three children born to Phillip Michael and Sue (Bruney) Aspenwall, who both predecease him.
Phil graduated from Buckeye West High School in Mt. Pleasant in 1983 and from Carnegie Mellon University in 1987. After working for CMU for several years, he moved to Seattle to work for Microsoft as a software engineer.
Phil is survived by sisters Amy Aspenwall and Ruth (Atsushi) Aspenwall Sato, both of Knoxville, Tennessee; stepchildren Max (Fernanda) Anderson of Bozeman, Montana and Emma Anderson of Wenatchee; Uncle John Aspenwall of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; Aunt Kathryn Aspenwall of Raleigh, North Carolina; and many cousins. In addition, his carer Robert Russell of Wenatchee helped Phil for many years and along the way became a dear friend. Phil was a member of the Cascade Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Wenatchee.
According to Phil’s wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no official memorial ceremony.
