ROBERT BARKER

He was born February 18, 1943, in Curry, WV, son of the late Robert Lee and Ida Pearl Stollings Barker.

Robert was a retired Electrical Engineer for Bayer Chemical, New Martinsville, WV where he worked for 20 years and worked for Weirton Steel as an Electrical Engineer for 19 years where he built the BOP.

He was a member of the oldest lodge in the state, the Masonic Lodge #2 in Wellsburg, WV. He was an avid hunter, archer, and outdoorsman, and enjoyed traveling and he had been as far as Alaska, Israel, Ireland, and Jordan. He was a Methodist by faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Louie Palmer Barker; and sister, Janet Ethel Hager.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, whom he married on August 30, 1969, Linda Darlene Donnelly Barker; two sons, Robert Gregg Barker, Lee Donnelly Barker; two sisters, Virginia Louise Hager, Rossa Mae Ellis; several nieces & nephews; and his dog, Ezekiel Lee “Zeke”.

Friends will be received on Monday, November 11, 2024 from 1-8 PM & Tuesday, November 12, 2024 from 10 AM until the time of service at 11 AM at Kepner Funeral Homes, 166 Kruger Street, Wheeling, WV (304-242-2311). Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Park View Memorial Gardens.

Friends are invited to the Osiris Shriners, 91 Kruger Street, Wheeling, WV 26003 for a meal and celebration of Rob’s life immediately following services.
