WAYNE CLINE
Wayne Allen Cline, 77, of Wellsburg, WV, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024 at Weirton Medical Center, under the care of the staff with the assistance of Valley Hospice.
Wayne was born on April 11, 1947 in Wheeling, WV. He was the son of the late Martin Cline and Evelyn (DeGarmo) Cline.
Wayne served his country proudly in combat during the Vietnam War as a Sergeant in the United States Army. He was noted for being top of his basic training class attaining the distinction of High Pro Park. Wayne received Bachelors and Masters degrees in History and International Politics from the University of Reading England through abroad studies of Bethany College. He retired after 38 years of service in the #7 Tandem Mill at Weirton Steel. Many will remember Wayne for being a renowned Golfer and his love of music, especially the Grateful Dead always planning trips around their concerts.
In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his brother, Teddy Cline, just two months ago.
Wayne is survived by his dedicated wife of 45 years, Ruth (Arbogast) Cline of Wellsburg, a son, Dr. Alan Cline and his wife, Lara of Wheeling, WV and a granddaughter, Lucille Cline.
A Celebration of Life is planning for Spring of 2025 with details to be announced.
A private interment will be held at Franklin Cemetery, Wellsburg, WV
