CHARLES EHLER

Charles Edward “Ed” Ehler, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away suddenly at his home on December 10, 2024, at the age of 82. Born on June 21, 1942, in Wheeling, West Virginia, Ed lived a life filled with service, love, joy and laughter.

A former member of the United States Secret Service, Ed dedicated his professional life to leadership and excellence. He held management positions with several prestigious companies, including Tappan Appliance of Chicago, Illinois, and Felix Half, and Brothers of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Ed retired from Magid Glove and Safety in Chicago after more than 20 years of service and being named Salesperson of the Year. Ed served his country with honor as a US Army Paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division.

In addition to his parents, Charles and Elizabeth (Smith) Ehler Richie, Ed is also preceded in death by his infant daughter, Ashley Anne Ehler and devoted step-father, Mike Richie; and sisters, Sondra and Ruth. Ed leaves behind a loving family. He is survived by his devoted wife of over 52 years, Sharen (Sako) Ehler; his daughter, Natalie Anne (Benjamin) Ehler Blowers; and his cherished grandchildren, Lauren, Ethan, Katelyn, and Luke. His memory will also be carried on by a close and loving extended family and many dear friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at 12:00 PM with Father Luis Mite as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt.
