Dennie "Wink" Winkler, age 71, of Clarington, OH passed away Friday, December 27, 2024 at Trinity West in Steubenville, OH surrounded by his loving family.
He was born August 9, 1953 in New Martinsville, WV, the son of the late Homer Louis and Alberta Yvonne Crawford Winkler.
Dennie was employed by HLC Trucking-Dilles Bottom where he worked as a general supervisor, and he enjoyed going to work every day.
He was a proud US Navy Veteran having served in the Vietnam War and a member of the VFW in Duffy.
Wink loved his antique truck and cars attending car shows, enjoyed golfing and playing cards with the old man club and never missed a day without ice cream.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Charles Wright.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Wright Winkler; one daughter, Shannan (Mitchell) Palmer of Powhatan Point, OH; two brothers, Ronald (Willie) Winkler of Clarington, OH and Kevin (Jo) Winkler of Sardis, OH; four sisters, Myrna (Stephen) Potts, Denise (Ted) Hunt all of Sardis, Dawn (Bill Marsh) Allen of Frostproof, FL and Maureen (Tim) Cecil of New Martinsville; mother-in-law, Carolyn Wright of Clarington; sisters-in-law, Leigh Wright of Wellsville, NY and Lydia (Frank) Foraker of Spring Hills, TN; a brother-in-law, Lorne (Carol) Wright of Norfolk, VA; and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Friday, January 3, 2025 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 751 Third Street, New Martinsville, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m.
Interment in Sardis Cemetery with military honor guard services.
